Spark plasma sintering process

Spark Plasma sintering is a powder consolidation method based on the use of a high intensity pulsed current which passes through graphite tooling, high heating rate and high pressure.  These specific conditions enable the full densification of a large range of materials and an important reduction in sintering time in comparison with conventional processes. The material fine microstructure is preserved through its rapid densification and the minimization of grains growth leading in high mechanical properties for the final sintered part.
